Walter Peacock joined Texas Sea Grant in May 2016. As a planning specialist with the Community Resilience Collaborative, his primary responsibility is to provide technical assistance to coastal communities in land use planning and hazard mitigation.

Before coming to Texas Sea Grant, Peacock was a planner at the Harris County Community Services Department, where he was a project manager for non-housing Ike and Dolly disaster recovery environmental reviews and low-income housing tax credits consistency policy. He also conducted environmental reviews of yearly Community Development Block Grant projects and processed GIS map and census data requests. He received a bachelor's degree in urban and regional science from Texas A&M University in 2010 and a Master of Urban Planning from Texas A&M University in 2013.​
