ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Matthew has a wealth of fisheries experience, having worked closely on fisheries management and research projects in the Caribbean as a fisheries biologist with the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources for over four years. 

In his role as the fisheries bycatch reduction project manager, Matt provides support and expertise to the National Oceanic and Admospheric Administration (NOAA) Better Bycatch Reduction Device project. His position is part of a large cooperative project between Texas Sea Grant, Louisiana Sea Grant, and NOAA to work with the shrimp industry on developing new bycatch reduction devices to help restore finfish populations in the Gulf of Mexico.
