Drew Casey is Texas Sea Grant's Extension Program Assistant. He is responsible for assisting with event planning and implementation, supporting ongoing projects for the Extension team, and analyzing and reporting data on department activities and initiatives. One of Casey’s projects is to assist the Community Resilience Collaborative in their long term Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts through data collection, analysis and management. Casey is also the Regional Coordinator for the National Ocean Science Bowl’s (NOSB) Dolphin Challenge and Loggerhead Challenge.
Casey came aboard as a Program Aide in August 2017 after 5 years in higher education, where he was a communications professor for Renmin University of China and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
He received a bachelor's degree in Technical and Scientific Communication from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2009, and in 2011 he received a master's degree in Asian Studies, with a focus on East-Asian security and technology issues, from Florida State University.
