Madgellen Cleary is a Coastal Resilience Specialist for Texas Sea Grant, located in Galveston. In this role, she works on a broad range of issues across many sectors, focusing on community resilience to disasters, such as hurricanes and floods. In particular, she will disseminate research-backed information to stakeholders and provide guidance to university and agency researchers related to coastal disasters and sustainability.

Cleary has worked as an instructor for Sea Camp, a divemaster, a laboratory administrator for Viswa Lab, a protected species observer for RPS Group, and a Natural Resource Specialist for the Army Corp of Engineers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marine biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston.
