Business Administrator Joins Texas Sea Grant
Texas Sea Grant welcomes Prisilla Berndt, who will be managing department funds as the new business administrator. Berndt will also serve as the human resources liaison for the department and extension offices regarding employment policies and procedures for hiring, training, and evaluation.
Berndt is a coastal bend native who received her B.S. in human resources from the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. She has extensive experience in business administration from Texas A&M Kingsville, as well as sponsored research administration experience from Texas A&M University in College Station.Berndt brings a unique perspective to Texas Sea Grant because of her skills in managing both department and grant funds.
As Berndt adjusts to the large size of the Texas A&M University campus, her Aggie spirit grows. She is excited to learn more about Texas Sea Grant’s mission and research.
“Before I started working here I wasn’t familiar with Texas Sea Grant’s mission,” Berndt said. “It’s great what Texas Sea Grant does for Texas’ coastlines.”
If you’re ever at Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas, or Sam Houston National Forest in Huntsville, Texas, you may catch Berndt and her family boating, bird watching, or practicing photography. Berndt can also be seen walking her dog, Molly, and her rabbit, Bubbles (yes, the family rabbit is leash trained).
